CNC Machining of an Aluminum Clevis for the Aerospace Industry
KL Steven was recently contracted to manufacture 600 of these aluminum clevises for a customer in the aerospace industry. The components were composed of AMS 4201, 7050-T7651 aluminum, and machined utilizing our precision CNC milling capabilities.
On our vertical CNC mills the raw stock was milled, drilled, and bored. Holes were then honed on our Sunnen hone, which allowed us to meet the required tolerances of ±.00015". Following deburring and comprehensive dimensional, visual, and FPI inspections the parts were anodized per AMS 2471 standards, and marked using our dot peening equipment. The finished clevises featured dimensions of 3" x 1" x 1", and produced in a quantity of 600 and turned over in only 8 weeks.
